A crime: Taking it to "1"

My Speedvagen is dryer than your Speedvagen. Cleaner, better lubed. And way more vertical than it should be (on a hook. In the basement.)

Yes, I didn't get a chance to even attend the Grand Prix here in Portland this past weekend, much less bust out the Speedvagen for its final official race. Was helping a friend move all day Saturday (criminal, in and of itself) and pulled ligaments in my left hand (which is why we leave "moving" to who??? That's right, "movers.") Sunday was a no go too cause of all the self-induced misery...

Anyway, sorry Fixie for not being able to meet you. And to the rest of the cross world, sweet dreams.

Let's still try to run up the bandwidth with some Speedvagenosity, shall we?

Unicorns to you,
Andy

And speaking of unicorns

Next season begins today, baby!

Sweet-- looking forward to meeting/riding/drinking with you and Mrs. tjh in Feb. I think I'm going to block myself out of work for that whole month.

Hi Andy,

Sorry to hear about the ligaments. If you get the itch to race one more time this year there is a cross race on Dec 30th up here in Seattle - Kringle Kross.

I had pretty decent races 25th on Saturday and 27th on Sunday. Considering I only had three hours of sleep on Friday I felt pretty good about the Saturday race.

Sunday I took a nice slide - about 30 feet of pure muddy delight. It was just like the good old days of sliding on the slip-no-slide in the backyard. Only this time it was muddy, raining, wind blowing like a mofo and cold. Not all sunny and hot running through the sprinkler weather. You know what I mean!

Things were definitely muddy out at PIR this weekend...

As of now, I am planning on being in Portland for the show in February too. See you all there!

Yo Andy,

I just signed up for the Worst Day of the Year ride. Are you planning on doing the ride this weekend? I will be in Portland on Saturday and Sunday. I am leaving the Speedvagen at home (my aplogies to the Unicorn Master) and will be riding my San Jose. At least it is still a single speed!

Ahoy Fixie! Good to hear from ye. No, I will not be doing the ride as I have my girls w/ me this weekend and only have enough babysitterness coverage to allow me a few hours at the show on Sat and Sunday. Boooo.

Funny you have an SJ-- I took mine out last weekend and most of last week.

Weird how much we Vegans have in common! (Wait, vegans are those things that dont eat things with faces, right?)

It was a good thing I'm not a vegan on Sunday. Powering the San Jose up the big hills by the Rose Garden and then up Thompson road required lots of power, unicorn power even! The weather was great. The route was fun. Five and a half hours to ride 40 miles was not so great. But, what can I say? It is all about the adventure...

I saw TJH at the show on Saturday. Totally random connection at the Vanilla booth (where else?!).

I hope you had fun at the show. Tons of cool stuff to ogle and luckily I think I managed not to drool on any of the cool stuff.
